Stolen Yorkie returns 11 years later, just in time to comfort the family

A Yorkie puppy named Rex joined his family while they suffered a devastating loss, and after 11 years of disappearance, he returned in a similar tragedy. It may just be a coincidence, but Marzena Niejadlik believes it is fate.

A lot has changed in 11 years, but the family is happy to welcome Rex back. He had gone bad when officials found him, so Niejadlik was determined to give him the loving home he had missed all these years. His return is proof that miracles have happened!

11 years apart

Niejadlik brought Rex home in 2011, shortly after her brother’s sudden death. She thinks Yorkie will be great at comforting her family during a difficult time. However, the family is ultimately faced with more heartache when Yorkie slips out the door as someone is leaving.

Then a witness saw someone pull over and grab Yorkie. It was the last time the family saw the dog in 11 years. They tried everything to locate him, but each year, they lost more and more faith.

However, animal control of Stoughton, Massachusetts recently came across a stray Yorkie that didn’t look well cared for. Animal Control Officer (ACO) Michelle Carlos bathed it and gave it water. She then tests him for a microchip, connecting the animal control to Niejadlik.

“We really hoped that one day it would happen, and in the end it did. We had to wait a lot, but it was amazing,” said Niejadlik.

Make up for lost time

When Niejadlik first got the call about Rex, she couldn’t believe it. Rex has been missing for so long that her children don’t even live to see him. But what’s even more unusual is that they found him just two months after Niejadlik’s other brother passed away, so the family needed the dog’s comfort again. Niejadlik calls it a miracle.

“Oh my gosh, you know, we got him after the first tragedy, and now he’s back from the second to help us deal with this loss, so that’s it. feeling,” said Niejadlik.

She treated Rex to a “day of beauty” and introduced him to the children. It may take a while for Rex to get used to his home again, but now he’ll never have to feel left out again.

ACO Carlos reminds dog parents their pet microchip. Microchips are the reason pets like Rex come home after so many years. Without this technology, Rex might never have found his family again.
