State trooper adopts injured dog he went above and beyond to save
The Memphis sun shines over the Birthplace of Rock N’ Roll this month, with temperatures reaching into the eighties. Extreme temperatures like these can be dangerous for pets, causing difficulty breathing, coma, disorientation, and even heat stroke.
And while many loving pet owners spend their pre-summer days researching ways to beat the summer heat, this time of year can be especially brutal for homeless pets. Without access to clean water or a cool place to lay your head, dangerous heat can quickly turn a sweltering hot day into a life-or-death situation.
Such was the case of a sweet female terrier found injured on the side of Highway 75 in Memphis. A good Samaritan driving saw the petrified dog stuck on the side of the road and immediately informed a nearby officer, who happened to be driving with her.
The officer, Trooper Tudors, flashed a red and green light as he pulled over to the side of the highway and approached the dog. The puppy was scared of the officer but was too injured to move. It was later discovered that she had broken her pelvis and several internal injuries.
The Trooped Tudors emptied their own Kool-Aid pitchers and filled them with cool, clean water that the sweet girl clapped her hands in an instant. He also gave her a Little Debbie cake to refresh her. Then, the kind soldier did something that no one could have foreseen. He pulled out a foldable chair and an umbrella and sat down next to the puppy that was shading her from the sun.
When asked why he decided to do that, the soldier explained that he would stay there until the dog decided he trusted him enough to take her to a shelter or his own home. he. After she decided that the soldier was finally trustworthy, she was put in the officer’s car and taken to the Community Animal Hospital in Memphis for treatment.
To the delight of all involved, it was announced that Trooper Tudors and his family have decided to adopt the dog once it is well enough to be discharged from the hospital. The family decided to name her Princess and visited her daily at the clinic. Without a doubt, the Princess will be treated by the Tudors with nothing but love and kindness.
