THQ Nordic announced today that SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake coming on Switch from January 31, 2023with pre-orders now open.
Of course, there are some special pre-order bonuses for everyone who wants to join the FUN early. All digital and physical pre-orders will come with a free Costume Pack add-on, which includes seven different in-game outfits for SpongeBob, such as RoboBob SteelPants, Mermaid Bob, JellyBob, etc
Along with the announcement of the game’s release date, the studio has also released a brand new trailer that can be found above. This new look at the Bikini Bottom in all its manifold glory gives a little more idea of what SpongeBob’s latest 3D platform rides will take.
Again, it looks like we’re not seeing Switch footage here, so we can expect the game to run a little differently on the Nintendo console. This being said, we can’t help but notice similarities in how Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated watched on Switch in 2020, so maybe the gameplay won’t too much of a shock next month.

We previously reported on the game ‘BFF Edition’ Special $250 (yes, the one with the inflatable Patrick) is also available for pre-order. Look, we appreciate some of the special edition bonuses, but it looks like Mr. Krabs was behind the pricing of this edition.
Fortunately, the standard version is available for pre-order at a much more reasonable price £34.99 / €39.99 / $39.99.
