Spence Jr aims for a knockout win over Ugas on Saturday

Errol Spence Jr hasn’t won a single match in four years, but the WBC and IBF welterweight champion will face off against Yordenis Ugas on Saturday.

Three of the four belts on the ropes at AT&T Stadium with the winner one more title to go as undisputed champion.

At yesterday’s media rehearsal, both men had their say.

“Aside from the battle with Kell Brook, this is definitely the meager fight I’ve ever been in,” Spence said.

“It is eat or eat. That’s all for Saturday night. Eat or eat. I will give knockout.

“There was no explanation when I said I was going to the knockout round. That’s what I said. So if I get it, I get it. If I don’t, I don’t. I know one hundred percent that I’m winning, but I definitely want to take him down.”

Ugas replaced Spence last August and battled Manny Pacquiao after the American withdrew because of eye complications that led to surgery.

The Cuban took the biggest win of his career and thus became a recognized WBA welterweight champion. And just like when he was in Las Vegas, Ugas is also the underdog this weekend.

“I know I’m an underdog. I’m here to win. I will fight anytime, anywhere, in anyone’s backyard,” said the 35-year-old.

“Spence can say whatever he wants. I will fight the way I always do, trade blows and move forward.

“I’ve always been the underdog – six years ago and now, I’m used to it. Spence is the favorite as a unified champion in his home town, but I’m here to relieve my sadness.

“I want all Cubans to know that I fight for them with all my heart and soul, and I will do it on Saturday night.”
