Snoop Dogg finally owns the Death Row record
Snoop Dogg finally owns Death Row Records after 30 years.
The rapper has acquired the rights to MNRK Music Group which is overseen by a global investment firm called Blackstone.
Snoop Dogg said in a statement: “I am delighted and appreciative of the opportunity to acquire the iconic and culturally significant Death Row Records brand, of immense untapped value in the future. ,” Snoop Dogg said in a statement. “It’s great to have ownership of the trademark that I was part of at the beginning of my career and as one of the founding members.”
Death Row filed for bankruptcy in 2006 and was sold six years later. Former CEO Suge Knight is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for running over and killing a man in 2015.
“This is a very meaningful moment for me,” he continued. “I would personally like to personally thank the teams at Blackstone, MNRK and especially David Kestnbaum, who have collaborated with me for many months to make this exciting return home a reality. I look forward to it. wanted to build the next chapter of Death Row Records.”
