Siladen Resort in North Sulawesi, Indonesia


If you’ve been following the DPG for longer than the pandemic, or if you’ve dug into our previous COVID Trip reportyou’ll know it’s one of our favorite places to dive and shoot — as well as relax and eat! -to be Siladen Resort & Sparight on the doorstep of the amazing Bunaken National Park in North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

So we are pleased to hear that fully vaccinated guests (two shots with or without booster) now need only one night of isolation. Due to its remote location, the resort has been approved as a quarantine “bubble” resort, meaning quarantined guests can dive, snorkel and swim from day one. At the end of the quarantine period — now just a day — after returning a negative PCR test result at the resort, guests can not only continue diving, but can also go on excursions and enjoy the wonderful spa. great resort.

Although Siladen Resort hasn’t had many guests for the past two years, the staff wasted no time undertaking maintenance and renovation work and made numerous improvements throughout the property. Beach clean-up operations are ongoing, ensuring Siladen Island is kept clean and plastic-free, and the resort has received the Indonesian Government’s CHSE COVID certification for Cleanliness, Hygiene, Safety and Environmental Sustainability. All staff have been vaccinated as well as booster shots.

To get to Siladen Resort, you will have to board a plane operated by subsidiary Singapore Airlines Scoot, currently has Singapore-Manado flights (approximately 3 hours 45 minutes) on Wednesdays and Fridays. (Expect more days as more passengers use the route.) Just note that the regular “visa on arrival” is currently unavailable. Foreign visitors require a Single Entry Visa (B211A) instead, which requires a “guarantor”—but if you are planning to dive for at least a week, Siladen is happy to arrange this special visa for you.

As COVID hospitalizations remain under control despite an increase in cases, Indonesia is considering lifting all quarantine requirements for entry travelers in April and potentially Regular visa requirements will also resume shortly before that. That means you will be able to enjoy Siladen Resort’s incredible diving wall, friendly turtlesand special cuisine without complications or limitations.
