2022 Shriners Open School for Children, Odds

  • Patrick Cantlay (7-1)
  • Sungjae Im (10-1): It’s puzzling that Im was left out of the most recent one-year PGA Tour win. Scoring a singles win over Cameron Young in the Pres President Cup, the Korean brought his season-ending form to Quail Hollow Club. In the last five starts of the 2021-22 campaign, Im has won three second-place finishes – including the Tour championship – and two other top 15 finishes with good scores. There’s nothing to suggest that he won’t take his title defense seriously.
  • Max Homa (15-1)
  • Aaron Wise (22-1): Mackenzie Hughes and Ryan Fox have stitched together the dynamics of missing out on the Presidents Cup into last week’s wins on the PGA Tour and DP World Tour. Wise was on the Davis Love III shortlist to fill the team but was disqualified. Wise crossed the finish line last season and eventually finished T13 in the Tour Championship with a steady hold on the ball throughout season after season. In the previous six trips to TPC Summerlin, Vegas residents have collected three finishes in the top 15.
  • Tom Kim (January 22): What can Kim do to put on her President’s Cup performance? The 20-year-old South Korean is the heart and soul of the international team but ran out of energy on Sunday with a singles defeat to Homa. His irony of play has been superb over the past few months, but defeat was almost inevitable after such a high-profile match in Charlotte.
  • Taylor Montgomery (January 28): Montgomery has exceeded expectations across two tournaments. Finishing on the podium in Napa, the UNLV production then went to the Country Club of Jackson and connected with another finish in the top 10. He should have a good level of comfort around TPC Summerlin, and have Maybe that’s what Montgomery needed to propel him to his first title on the PGA Tour.
  • Alex Noren (35-1)
  • Cameron Davis (40-1)
  • Brian Harman (40-1)
  • Taylor Pendrith (40-1): The Canadian made his memorable Pres President Cup debut after a 0-4-0 loss to Quail Hollow Club. This shortcoming in his résumé should not rule out his playing quality prior to his time with the international team. Pendrith has largely been fantastic since recovering from a rib injury in the spring of 2022. Since his return, the 31-year-old has had five top 15 finishes in seven tournaments.
  • Tom Hoge (40-1)
  • Emiliano Grillo (40-1)
  • Davis Riley (40-1)
  • Si Woo Kim (45-1): Many say that a group event can change a person’s career trajectory. It happened to Scottie Scheffler in 2021 and maybe, just maybe, it will get Kim back on track after an average 2021-22 season. Taking down Justin Thomas on Sunday’s single, Kim wields the broom like a seasoned Adam Scott. He is currently preparing to make his season debut at a pitch that has been good to him in the past. In the past five Shriners kids’ expansions, the former Player champion has finished three times in the top 25 including a T8 result in 2020.
