Tim Tszyu made his US debut on Saturday when he took on Terrell Gausha at the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The son of the famous and acclaimed Kostya Tszyu, the 27-year-old Australian has yet to taste defeat. Gausha, however, not some tomatoes can be put in there to make Tszyu look good. Furthermore, a win over Tszyu would add to the American’s résumé in a nice way, so it makes perfect sense for Gausha to make the most of his chances. The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds in the junior middleweight class.

Tszyu 20-0 put pressure in the first half. However, 22-2-1 Guasha dropped his man in the opening chapter. Tszyu got up quickly, but the knockdown was seen as a pretty welcome welcome for the United States. Tszyu turned to pressurize in the second. The pressure continued into the third half – but Guasha was able to use an efficient defence and land well. Guasha went down in the fourth section, though it was supposed to slip. However, the boxer doesn’t look great after getting up. Tszyu took the opportunity to dash away while his opponent was on the ropes.

Tszyu hit his man very effectively in the first minute of the fifth inning. It looks like the fight will probably stop as Tszyu continues to punch nonstop. However, Gausha is nothing but difficulty and a game. He also has enough experience to cover well and know when to hold. Looks like Gausha is trying to pull Tszyu’s strings. By the sixth day, however, Gausha’s output was minimal. By the seventh installment, the fight had fallen into place: Tszyu remained firmly on the rope while Guasha kept her gauntlet.

Tszyu seemed to have slowed down a bit into season eight while Guasha appeared ready to wait for a counterattack. However, how many blows of Tszyu could he absorb? And how much energy did Tszyu use to spin round after round? Gausha escaped from the ropes at the ninth minute while Tszyu’s speed dwindled. Tszyu returned and continued to increase the pressure in the tenth round. By the eleventh day, it was clear that the war was a matter of output. Gausha defended himself well, but his offense disappeared after a knockdown in the first round.

By the final round, it was clear that Gausha needed a knockout to win. Defeated, but not without his gaming skills and courage, Gausha gave his all. Tszyu, however, is too powerful and stylistically challenging for him to resist successfully. Tszyu stepped out of the ring with a unanimous decision victory.
