“With a resident’s pedigree, when you work for them in short-term races to try to keep them fresh, they can do it, but they don’t either. Right after you flip the switch and you start working with them. For their genealogy, they get stronger, and that’s what she did.”
Fireburn is trying to join a famous list of 2-year-olds to claim the three underage crowns, but Portelli – who was the first to congratulate Cummings after the win – said the race was slow paid to the daughter of Rebel Dane Chance and she didn’t have enough legs left to run down She’s Extreme, eventually having to beat 1/4 of the length.
