The Count de Monet, The River Struggle of Two Eagles in the Renaissance

The last day of 2022 has minors gathered at Oaklawn Park, as the Arkansas track will, for the first time, offer a full range of races exclusively for 2-year-olds. Out of the 10 races there is a $150,000 Renaissance Bet for the minors at six long distances and a $150,000 End of Year Bet for the minors at one mile.

The action for these 2-year-olds comes the day before they officially turn 3 on New Year’s Day, the common birth date of Purebred People of the Northern Hemisphere.

Charles Galli is undefeated Count Monet who pushed his record to 3 to 3 with a win on the opening day of the December 9 Advent Stakes in Oaklawn, leading Renaissance, along with River of Two Eagles a speed racer who scored a victory and finished second in two matches that started at Churchill Downs.

Tom Swearingen trains Count De Monet (inspect ).

“This is a beautiful horse, it really is,” Swearingen said. “He’s getting better. He’s just a kid, but he’s getting better all the time. He’s just grown up like a blade of grass.”

Count de Monet boasted of preparing for the Renaissance with five stretchers at 1:04 2/5 on December 22 in Oaklawn.

Oaklawn lost three days of training (December 23, December 24, and December 26) because of freezing temperatures. The track was also closed on December 25 for Christmas.

“We’ll do our best and see where it goes,” Swearingen said. “Taking four days of training isn’t ideal, but everyone’s in the same boat and there’s nothing you can do. It’s just Mother Nature.”

Chris Hartman Mach 1 and Scattered Acres’ Two Eagles River racing conditions (Cloud computing ), who narrowly won 6-5 vs. 7-5 Count de Monet after finishing as a close runner-up in an optional benefit claimant for intern Brad Cox is overrated winning lineup at Churchill Downs.

Hartman, Oaklawn’s top coach in 2015, called Two Eagles River “probably my greatest 2-year-old.”

“It will be a good test for him,” Hartman said. “(Count de Monet) looks like a nice horse.”

Four others in the lineup: Bourbon Bash , dim departure —both bettors—and recent first winners Spurrier and Choctaw Zip .
