Stephen Fulton is sick and tired of not getting the respect he believes he truly deserves. The 27-year-old Philadelphia player has made his mark at his best as a professional player.

In the first month of 2021, Fulton dethroned former WBO super bantamweight champion Angelo Leo. Ten months later, Fulton would put more gold on his shoulders, shouldering the business against Brandon Figueroa. In the process, Fulton also stole Figueroa’s WBC title.

However, despite becoming the 122-pound unified champion, Fulton was not satisfied with the respect he received in the boxing world. So, in an attempt to force pugilistic sport to respect his overall skills, Fulton is threatening not only to eliminate his own weight class, but to do so in several others.

Fulton said on his social media account: “This year I was rated between 122-130Lbs. “Mark my words. Never disrespect me again! ”

Although Fulton’s words didn’t seem to offend any of the other 122- and 126-pound world champions, Shakur Stevenson, the 130-pound WBO, was instantly smug.

Stevenson said in response to Fulton. “It’s 130 on the clamp. Damn, let’s deadlock. “

Although Fulton refrained from publicly calling Stevenson out, he made it clear his feelings that a match between the pair was not out of the question.

Fulton continued: “122 in a deadlock. “26-30 right there. I see it.”

The 24-year-old Stevenson recently won his second world title against Jamel Herring. In front of a mostly pro-Herring crowd at State Farm Arena in Atlanta Georgia, Stevenson decisively knocked his man out before scoring the winning goal in injury time to claim the WBO superlative title.

Currently, Stevenson’s Access List includes Gervonta Davis and Vasiliy Lomachenko. But, more than anything, if the choice is only his, Stevenson will have the opportunity to face WBC £130, Oscar Valdez.

However, even though Fulton wasn’t in Stevenson’s immediate plans, if Fulton was really eager to try his hand at super featherweight, Stevenson would urge him to pick up the phone and give him a call.

“I am a champion at 130 who will find a way to give another champion a chance. Just let me know, I don’t mind at all.”
