Severance Season 2: Plot, Actors

“Severance” season two seems to have hit another snag. Production of the show’s sequel has stalled in New York amid a writers’ strike, Deadline reported on May 8.

Just a few days earlier, star Zach Cherry confirmed that filming was underway and said “everything is going well” in a May 4 interview with Entertainment Tonight. Although Cherry didn’t reveal much information at the time, he said that upon reading the second season’s script, “My reaction was the same as my reaction to the first season’s script, that’s it. is ‘This is great!’ ”

Season two of “Severance” may have experienced some setbacks, as in late April Puck News reported that it had been delayed in part due to animosity between hosts Dan Erickson and Mark Friedman . However, Ben Stiller, executive producer and director of season one, responded to the reports with a statement clarifying that season two is still going at full speed, according to TVLine. “We’re doing the same very slow schedule that we’ve always been on. The same target broadcast date that we’ve always had,” he said, adding that “we’re all just working on getting it right. make the show the best it can be.”

Back in January, series star Patricia Arquette issued an ominous warning to fans about season two. “Be scared, very scared,” she said, on IndieWire. “I think these guys have worked really hard and come up with a lot of really creative things. They have a whole world in mind. They just let us get involved, little by little, into what’s going on. out, but I think it’s going to be fun and beautiful.”

In the meantime, let’s see what else we know about “Severance” season two so far.

“Severance” Plot Part 2

Season one ended with a dramatic ending, so it’s likely season two will pick up where the rest. “There’s definitely going to be some expansion of the world,” creator Erickson teased in April, on Esquire, saying the show will continue to explore its central conglomerate, Lumon, where claims employees erase their memories of their working life after hours are up. “In Lumon, we’ll see more buildings, and we’ll also see more of the outside world,” he said. “There’s an overarching plan for the show. I have an end point in mind, and I purposely don’t plan it season by season because I want it to be flexible enough that we can get there in two. or six seasons. I wanted to allow us to marvel at how the show went. Get a feel for what Lumon was trying to do and what role our main characters would be playing in it, and all. Where will it culminate?”

Erickson also told Entertainment Weekly that season one will focus on the lives of more Lumon employees outside of work. “The first season was an ensemble in the work, but it was clearly more focused on Mark (Adam Scott) on the outside,” he said. “We wanted the audience to experience Mark’s life through his perspective and he didn’t know who Helly (Britt Lower) and Irving (John Turturro) and Dylan (Cherry) were on the outside; the whole setting of what he’s doing for them is work, so we wanted to tell them that way in season 1, but in part 2, we’re going to give all these people an outside look. have their own reasons for doing this procedure and they’re all at some stage of the healing process for one thing or another.”

Stiller also shared a few vague plot details with Deadline in April. “I think it’s important for fans of the show to know that unanswered questions need to be answered at some point,” he said. It’s just, I think we feel a responsibility to do it in a way that’s both responsible and entertaining.”
