Servis admits guilt, faces 4 years in prison

Coach Jason Servis faces four years in prison after pleading guilty Dec. 9 in a Manhattan courtroom to one felony and one misdemeanor related to the use or distribution of something the government thought to be a performance enhancer for thoroughbred racehorses. His sentencing will take place on May 8, 2023, at 11 a.m. ET.

Servis did not challenge the accusation that he gave his elite racehorse Maximum security a product called SGF-1000, a substance that was part of his misdemeanor plea.

Other charges were dismissed that could have resulted in a significantly longer sentence for Servis. The coach must pay damages of about $600,000 and will forfeit about $111,000, according to court proceedings Friday.
