Senior cat named Rose Nylund finds days at home forever before Betty White’s 100th birthday
People across the country have honored the late Betty White by donating to their local homes in her name on her 100th birthday.
Maui Humane Society joined the #BettyWhiteChallenge and as a bonus, one of their longtime feline residents found a loving home.
Senior gray tabby named Rose Nylund, after Betty White’s Golden Girls character, spent more than 100 days in a bunker waiting for someone to choose her.
A video of the friendly cat was shared on YouTube with caption, “While my roommates were nice, what I miss most is having a family to love. If you help me start over, I’ll be your ‘Golden Girl’ for the rest of my years! “
A local news station, Hawaii News Now, covered Rose and it led to a couple from Oahu flying to Maui to meet the adorable cat.
The couple immediately fell in love with Rose and adopted her over the weekend. She is currently in Oahu living her best life.
On Monday, which will be Betty White’s 100th birthday, the shelter shared the amazing news on Facebook. Surname Written, “Our last golden girl, Rose Nylund has something to celebrate today too!”

Her patience paid off and she finally found the right home. Shelter thanks everyone for sharing Rose’s story and speak, “#ThankYouForBeingAFriend, Betty White, and for still helping shelter animals from the other side of the rainbow bridge.”
Rose has found her happily ever after but has several other pets at the shelter with famous names, like a Chihuahua hybrid named Judge Judy and a large mixed breed named Dale Earnhardt, They would love to find a loving home.
