Searching for missing Oklahoma teen, 7 bodies found : NPR

HENRYETTA, Okla. (AP) — Authorities discovered the bodies of seven people Monday while searching a home in rural Oklahoma for two missing teenagers, state investigators confirmed.

The bodies were found near the town of Henryetta, a town of about 6,000 people about 145 kilometers east of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokesman Gerald Davidson said.

He said the state medical examiner would have to identify the victims, but authorities are no longer looking for missing teenagers or a man they may have been with.

Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice told reporters: “We shared the hardships and the woes, but this was pretty bad.

Rice declined to confirm the identities of any of the victims, where the bodies were found or any details of weapons that could be discovered at the property.

“We believe there is no other threat to the community,” he added.

A person at risk advisory was issued earlier on Monday to Ivy Webster, 14, and Brittany Brewer, 16. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol rescinded the advisory Monday afternoon.

Counseling for Webster and Brewer said they are believed to have been accompanied by Jesse McFadden, who is on the state sex offender registry. Oklahoma Department of Corrections prison records show McFadden was convicted of first-degree rape in 2003 and released in October 2020.

Court records show McFadden was scheduled to appear in court on Monday to begin a jury trial on charges of solicitation of sexual conduct with a minor and possession of child pornography. . A message left Monday night with McFadden’s attorney in that case was not immediately answered.

Brittany Brewer’s father told KOTV in Tulsa that one of the bodies discovered was his daughter.

“Brittany is an open person. She was actually chosen as Miss Henryetta… will appear in July for the Miss National pageant in Tulsa. And now she won’t be able to participate because of her. She’s dead. She’s gone,” said Nathan Brewer.

In another Okmulgee County case, the bodies of four men were found on October 14 in the Deep Fork River in Okmulgee, a town of about 11,000 people about 40 miles (65 km) south of Tulsa. . Joseph Kennedy, 68, is facing four counts of first-degree murder in that case.
