SeaLife announces Sea Dragon 5000+ Photo-Video Light

SeaLife has announced the latest addition to Sea Dragon series of photo/video lights: the Sea Dragon 5000+. debut at Recent DEMA Program, the lamp features a COB LED array that delivers 5,000 lumens and offers a color rendering index (CRI) of 90—meaning a light quality very similar to that of sunlight. The Sea Dragon 5000+ has a beam angle of 120° (90° underwater), a color temperature of 5000K, and an hour of runtime at full power. SeaLife says the lamp is more compact and heavier than its predecessor, the lamp 5000F.

The main distinguishing feature of the new light is a special mode called SeaLife Color Boost, which “combines red and white light frequencies to create a warming underwater effect that boosts brightness and adds extra color for underwater photos and videos.” In this mode, the color temperature drops to 3700K, resulting in warmer colors. Another distinguishing feature is the “over-drive” mode, which boosts brightness to 6,000 lumens for two minutes before automatically returning to its normal maximum of 5,000 lumens. The over-drive feature can be used with or without SeaLife Color Boost.

By default, the Sea Dragon 5000+ offers five lighting options in “Easy Mode” but the attractive “Advanced Mode” (by pressing and holding the main button for eight seconds) gives users more control. settings. Finally, hold down the main button for four seconds to put the light in Emergency Signal Mode, where you can toggle between two options: an SOS signal or a 1-second blinking light.

Available from December 2022, the Sea Dragon 5000+ will cost $600. Lamp head comes with battery, charger and YS adapter, 1-inch ball joint adapter and Flex-Connect adapter—SeaLife’s Exclusive One-Click Bend Arm System.

SeaLife introduces Sea Dragon 5000+ Professional Photo-Video Light with SeaLife Color Boost

MOORESTOWN, NJ – SeaLife introduces their new compact Sea Dragon 5000+ Photo-Video light. The Sea Dragon 5000+ photo-video light is a high-performance underwater light that delivers 5000 lumens with a smooth 120° wide beam. The lamp offers 90 CRI (color rendering index) with a proprietary COB LED array that reproduces natural sunlight (CRI 100 will be the same as natural sunlight). With the addition of new patent pending SeaLife Color Boost™, a photo-video light that combines frequencies of red and white light to create a warming underwater effect that boosts brightness and adds color to underwater photos and videos. Sea Dragon 5000+ tested at depths of up to 330 feet (100 meters).

Other brands of LED underwater lights offer much lower CRI and omit the important color components needed to produce colorful and natural underwater images and videos; The Sea Dragon 5000+ powers on at 5000 lumens of white light at 5000k color temperature. When SeaLife Color Boost™ is activated, the color temperature rises to 3700k, helping to replenish lost reds for a balanced effect, especially when shooting at longer distances. The Sea Dragon 5000+ also has an over-drive feature that allows brightness to reach 6000 lumens for 2 minutes, with or without Color Boost™ (6000 lumens color enhancement = 4000k color temperature), then automatically returns 5000 lumen level to adjustable temperature and power consumption. Accessing Color Boost™ is easy, just press the mode button once. Divers are dimmable from 3000 lumens (3000 lumens color enhancement = 2700k color temperature), 1500 lumens and red-only stealth mode uses two red LEDs allowing for night-time diving Scared sea creatures.

The Sea Dragon 5000+ also features “Advanced Mode” with more color and brightness settings, including more Color Boost™ options. The light automatically starts up in “Easy Mode” with 5 lighting options. Users can easily switch to Advanced Mode by pressing and holding the light’s central push button for 8 seconds from the power off state. The light also has an Emergency Signal Mode—press and hold the central push button from the off position for 4 seconds to access emergency mode with over 40 hours of operation.
