Dr Matthew Hannon, from the University of Strathclyde’s Hunter Center for Entrepreneurship, warned that the energy price cap could rise again in October – with the average electricity and gas bill paying by direct debit projected newspaper will increase from “only about £2,000 to about £2,600”.
