Scientists Capture Risk to Demand Climate Action
A growing international movement called Scientists’ Revolt calls on world leaders to end the burning of fossil fuels.

Rose Abramoff drove from her home in Knoxville, Tenn., to the nation’s capital last week to chain herself to the White House fence.
The climate scientist was among seven protesters arrested on April 6 (and later released). Their dynamics: dire warnings that time is quickly running out to meet the world’s climate goals, as detailed in main report last week from the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
Two days later, Abramoff was back — this time marching with a group of climate activists down rush-hour I-395. The group was arrested again, but not before they were brought to a standstill on one of Washington’s busiest highways.
In both cases, their demands are clear: faster, stronger climate action from governments around the world and an end to the burning of fossil fuels.
“It was my first experience of civil disobedience for any reason,” said Abramoff, a climate scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, said, who stressed that her activity was conducted on her own behalf and did not reflect the views of her organization. An old legal proverb says, “If you have the truth on your side, break the truth down. If you have a law on your side, break it. If you are not with you, hit the table. ”.
In my opinion, scientists chain themselves to lampposts and block the way, knocking tables.
