Michael Cohen, Witness Against Trump, Says He’s Seriously Considering Running for Congress

Former “fixer” Michael Cohen Testify against your former boss Donald Trump on Monday, told a jury in Lower Manhattan that Trump had not interested regarding news of his alleged affair with the porn star Daniels storms will go through with Melania Trump—but he is deeply concerned about how it will play out in the 2016 campaign. “This is a disaster, a total disaster,” Cohen declared Trump told him. “Women will hate me. Everyone will think that’s great, but this would be a disaster for the campaign.”

Cohen’s testimony could be very bad news for the former president, as prosecutors argue that Trump absolutely received a $130,000 hush payment to Daniels on the eve of the election and that he falsified business records to cover up repayments to Cohen. But maybe that’s not it only one something Cohen said recently that made his ex feel uneasy.

In a series of regular livestreams on TikTok, Cohen has claimed to his audience that his former boss is going to jail, that people must vote against Trump in November, and that he is, in fact, Consider running for a higher position. On one occasion, Cohen told the assembled group, “Trump 2024? More like 20 to 24 year old Trump.” (The 34 counts Trump is charged with in the hush money case, to which he has pleaded not guilty, each carry a maximum sentence of four years in prison.) In another case, Cohen declared, “Trumpism is the fascism, and we must eradicate it from our body politic. The only way we can maintain democracy instead of autocracy is to vote. Indifference will not work this time. And don’t be that person who sits on the sidelines and has to turn around and say to your children, your grandchildren, ‘I should have voted,’ okay? ‘I should have done something, but I didn’t.’ That’s on you.”

During a May 9 livestream, Cohen said, “I’ve got the best name recognition out there…I’m telling you, I could run for Congress…I could do it even if I don’t receive the blessings of my wife and children. I’m in one of those areas and I’m not saying that hyperbole, I’m saying it legitimately. I met yesterday…with a friend of mine, long time no see, he is a major strategist for the Democratic Party, not just domestically but specifically in New York.”

A few days before that, Rosie O’Donnell called into the livestream to give Cohen a “pep talk” about his upcoming testimony, asking him to “stop listening to all the MAGA negativity coming your way.” She added, “What you lie about are things [Trump] made you do so and you have made a complete change in telling the truth and I think that should be applauded and you should completely ignore other people’s opinions until you stand on your own school.” (In his own livestream following Trump’s civil fraud case in New York, O’Donnell told his audience, “Good news about our former president’s relentless unraveling: 350 million dollars that he had to pay for lying and overestimating. For lying and overestimating.

Trump is currently under a gag order, prohibiting him from attacking witnesses and jurors in the case. Last Friday, judge Juan the merchant said he would ask prosecutors to ask Cohen to refrain from commenting on the proceedings.
