Ryan Garcia plans to “suddenly break” Tagoe on April 9

Oscar De La Hoya says Ryan Garcia needs to be ‘smart and careful’ when ‘KingRy’ returns to the ring on April 9.

After nearly 15 months of leaving the ring, the undefeated lightweight face Emmanuel Tagoe at Alamodome, San Antonio live on DAZN. And De La Hoya, the promoter for Garcia, gave his thoughts on the match during yesterday’s open training session in San Diego.

“He was fighting someone who had nothing to lose,” said the famous former multi-weight world champion.

“I think Ryan needs to come out and make a point but do it smartly and carefully.”

The last time Garcia faced England’s Luke Campbell was in January 2021. After being dropped for the first time in his career, the 23-year-old rose was back and with a deadly KO.

“For the first time in my life I got knocked down and I handled it well. I reacted the way I imagined,” said Garcia.

Garcia v Tagoe has been set to a maximum weight limit of 139 lbs. Big plans are in the works for the Californian if he makes it through next month and the heavyweight betting fan has commented on how he plans to beat the Ghanaian.

“The boxers are always trying to put pressure on me. We’ll see because I don’t know too much about this guy. I would just stay calm and surgically break him or knock him out. “

Joe Goossen will be in Garcia’s corner for the first time since the boxer split from Eddy Reynoso. The veteran coach said he knew Garcia had something special.

“We got along well and there was something about him that drew me in with his shrewd personality and wise fighting. He really attacks this as if he is haunted and haunted. I am really impressed. “
