Robust quality, rugged durability impresses at Fair Grounds

Gary Barber and Kinsman Stable’s Strong quality won the second on February 19 for coach Mark Casse at Fair Grounds & Slots. 3 year old son of Quality Sugar not of the Kinsman breed Tiznow mare Tiz is so sweet and was agent Justin Casse’s $500,000 purchase at The November Sale, Fasig-Tipton’s flagship breeding stock sale in Lexington, where he was consigned by Lane’s End.

Destroyed by Adam Beschizza, Strong Quality is Hit Scotland Yard , who placed the fractions: 23.99 and: 48.45 for half a mile. On the second turn, Strong Quality moved closer to the leader and took the position as both entered the round. He finished the 1/16-mile juniors with a 1/4 length advantage in a final time of 1:44.11 on the fast track.

Strong Quality’s second dam is the 2nd place winner Sweet enthusiasm , half-sister with the winner of the shares is classified as a millionaire and the concert of Duc Lang Quan; class 1 winners are ranked, graded Illusion; 1st place winner is ranked Wondertross; and 3rd place winner Granting.

Days Before Stonestreet Stables’ Bombdiggity won the second start, entering the six-hair maiden race for mares and mares 3 years of age and older. The Into Mischief filly was purchased by Stonestreet for $600,000 at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale from a Taylor Made Sale Agency shipment.

During his debut on November 6th, intern Steve Asmussen was bumped in the first place and faltered before finishing sixth on the 6 1/2 girls’ time test at Churchill Downs.

Bred by WinStar Farm, Bombdiggity is not a deposited Dixie Union mare Checkupfromzneckup dam of Caribbean Cape who won Dogwood Stakes (G3) and is unbeaten in 5 games starting in 2021.

The ocean currents around the bay
Ed Seltzer and the hybrid of Beverly Anderson Fawning have found their way to the winner’s circle. February 20 at Gulfstream Park, do a race that lasts about five times on an all-weather track with two lengths. The race was originally scheduled for grass.

Discarded by Tyler Gaffalione, the filthy Into Mischief ran in second when the fractions were: 22.22 and: 45.10 over half a mile, respectively. Fawning headed in the front and continued to stop the clock with a record: 57.25.

Coached by Saffie Joseph Jr., Fawning debuted at the age of 2 in December but finished over the top. She returned on January 27 to finish second on the same course and distance as Sunday’s test.

Fawning is the third pony of Lemon Drop Kid mare Sparkling Reviews who won 2014 Mrs. Revere Stakes (G2T) and Pin Oak Valley View Stakes (G3T) for a four-race win streak.

Turning road
In its fourth and first start-up, Brownwood’s Farm Querobin Dourada earned her first win for coach Paulo Lobo at Lawn Park February 16th.

Under Albin Jimenez, Capo Bastone Filly performed a 6 1/2 girlhood test on a 3-year-old fillet with a length of 4 1/4 in a final time of 1:18.66 on the all-weather fast track.

Bred by Haras Phillipson, Querobin Dourada is out Gusto Dolce (via TRIAL approval), group 2 winner in South America.

Delta Downs
After two finishes at Churchill Downs, My Racehorse and Greg Tramontin’s Search Engines got his first win at Delta Downs February 18 with jockey Timothy Thornton, doing the girly one-mile special weight for 3-year-olds 6 1/4 of the length.

The son of Flatter The search engine is the full brother of the tier 1 winner Search Results , who won the 2021 Acorn Stakes (G1) after finishing as runner-up in the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1).
