Robert Garcia has revealed the fighter he thinks can beat unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk – and that’s the man who hung up his gloves a long time ago.
Talking to FightHype, Garcia says he believes a young Mike Tyson will have the perfect style to counter the Ukrainian’s slick skills.
When asked if he sees any other heavyweights that could beat Usyk, Garcia replied:
“My God, Usyk is very difficult.
I don’t even know if any heavyweights fight like that, but if we had a boxer like the old Mike Tyson, I think that style is probably what beat Usyk.
But we don’t have anyone like that in the weight class.
As for the top players, I don’t think anyone can fight like Mike Tyson did, so it’s probably going to be hard to find someone to beat him.”
Garcia coached Anthony Joshua because of his defeat in a rematch with Usyk in August, and there has been much speculation about whether Brit will stay with Garcia or change training camp again.
AJ could be set for the biggest night of his career so far in December of this year, with The talk regarding the monster fight with Tyson Fury is said to be going well.
As for Usyk, he accused Fury of pursuing the fight with Joshua as a means to avoid an undisputed clash.with his manager reiterating the opinion that the ‘King Gypsy’ feared the three-belt champion.
