Quest King Of The Baggers Race 1
Everyone seemed to have a problem to deal with in the opening round of the Mission King Of The Baggers series at Daytona International Speedway, but Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson’s James Rispoli handled it better than the rest to win. First win of her career in class.
Rispoli was running in second place and chasing the original leader Kyle Wyman when he saved his life and somehow stayed on his Road Glide despite a seemingly endless and full tank. slime on the high shore. Having brought that under control, he is putting pressure on Wyman as the HD Screamin’ Eagle Road Glide expires with five laps.
From there comes the fight with Rispoli and his teammate Hayden Gillim joined by Travis Wyman’s second mill Harley. Two Vance & Hines riders were then frightened when Travis Wyman’s Road Glide suffered a mechanical failure on the bank. The oil scare in the banking sector brought red flags and Rispoli got its first win in the bag with second man Gillim.
Defending King Of The Baggers champion Tyler O’Hara finished third in the Indian Motorcycle/Progressive/Mission Foods Indian Challenger despite having to start from the back row after the team couldn’t get him and teammate Jeremy McWilliams out. Get out of the pit in time for the lap to be seen.
Team Saddlemen Harley’s first-person was moved to fourth place by Cory West, who finished 13.1 seconds ahead and trailed McWilliams, who was just 1.4 seconds ahead of rookie Baggers and former Superbike racer Jake Lewis.
In addition to the two factory Harleys, Bobby Fong was another person disqualified from the race because of a mechanical problem on his Sac Mile/SDI Racing/Roland Sands/Indian Challenger bike.

“I saw my life flash twice and then it just went by. I was like, ‘maybe I’ll get away with it.’ It just keeps going up all the banks. I don’t know, buddy. I summoned all the energy from my ancestors to keep that path straight. But at the end of the day, to be honest, it was a really fun race. When we see Tyler (O’Hara) and Jeremy (McWilliams) aren’t there (grid), the game plan is always to race hard but it’s a bit different because the Harleys react the same. So me and Hayden (Gillim) just clicked the laps, passing each other in favorable positions. I think we found his strengths, my strengths, and we made it work. Honestly, it’s a shame to see both factory Harleys go, but I feel like we’re trailing them a bit in some areas. Maybe he just blew up. I do not know. I feel like Hayden and I have done an extraordinary job just working together. You have to do it here in Daytona. Then me and Hayden started making a lot of mistakes there, running too wide and stuff. I just hope no one else will catch up. I saw some people coming. Travis (Wyman) went there with us and he had a good time. Thankfully, he was solid and on the right track. But I was just intrigued. Vance & Hines has been working hard during this off-season. We go out in FP1 and if we’re a mile an hour late, all will be forgotten, and that’s impossible. These people work very hard. We are in war. Yes, we may not be able to run a mile an hour, but we lasted, and we hit one and two. It was the first King Of The Baggers (round). I’m super proud of my team and my teammates. We will keep going. Terry (Vance) – just take the red number out because we’re looking at the red number plate, honey.

Quest King Of The Baggers Race 2
HD Screamin’ Eagle’s Kyle Wyman made up for the disappointment of not being able to finish the first leg of two Mission King Of The Baggers races on Friday with an eight-second victory on Saturday at the Daytona International Speedway.
Wyman’s Harley-Davidson Road Glide factory had to come to a halt during Friday’s first Baggers race, forcing the 2021 King Of The Baggers Champion to see Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson’s James Rispoli record his first win. career in the opening round of the championship.
And everyone paid for his disappointment as Wyman was in tears on Saturday, leading every lap in the eight-lap race to beat Rispoli by 8,030 seconds. Third place went to Rispoli teammate Hayden Gillim, a day after Gillim finished second. Team Saddlemen’s Cory West finished fourth with his teammate Jake Lewis making the top five.
The reigning Mission King Of The Baggers champion Tyler O’Hara had a rough day as the Indian Motorcycle/Progressive/Mission Foods-backed Californian ran all the way through and finished in second place. 11. O’Hara’s teammate, Jeremy McWilliams, also fell short of the pace, coming in 11th after losing a battle to Roland Sands Design / Indian Motorcycle’s Kyle Ohnsorg.
Kyle Wyman
“Definitely angry, a bit frustrated because I only know how good the bike is when it’s all there like we developed it. Letting it end like that yesterday was certainly frustrating. What can I say? The boys finished their homework this winter. Obviously, we have a pretty strong package. We’re still not the fastest bike in a straight line, which is fun. But we’re in a really good position for the rest of the season. I don’t know exactly where the points shake out. James (Rispoli) filled both his pockets with points. I only filled one side, so we’ll have to see where it is. I’m super happy to end the weekend on a high because after that I feel like it was a good weekend.”
