Mariska Hargitay and other Law & Order: Special Victims Unit members are mourning one of them.
Richard Belzerwho played detective John Munch on the NBC series for 15 full seasons after starting the role on Murder: Life on the Streetspassed away on February 19. The actor, stand-up comedian and author of books on conspiracy theories, was 78 years old.
“Goodbye my dear friend,” said Mariska, who played Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU, wrote on her Instagram. “I will miss you, your unique light, and your uniqueness in this strange world.”
The actress continued, “I feel so lucky to know you, love you and work with you, side by side for all these years. How lucky the angels have you. I I can hear their laughter already. I love you so much, now and forever.”
Christopher Meloniwho plays Elliot Stabler on Law & Order: SVU, also paid tribute to Belzer on social media. Performer tweeted a photo of him kissing his late co-star on the cheek at the comic’s 2001 Friars Club Roast, with Hargitay smiling behind them.
