Revealed BMW X3 2025 – G45 appears in official “spy photos”; will get the PHEV with 100km EV range, the 390hp M50
Like the hands of a clock, G01 BMW X3 is being replaced after seven years on the market. Munich has released official “sneak shots” of its replacement, the all-new G45, which is undergoing final driver support and chassis tuning before its world debut “in a few weeks ”.
Despite wearing full body camouflage, we can still see the overall design of the new X3 quite clearly. It looks like a super big world X1Complete with triangular headlights, a large twin grille, chunky fenders, flush-pull door handles and a rather weak version of the Hofmeister twist on the thick D-pillar.
Unique touches include dual L-shaped daytime running lights reminiscent of the previously facelifted G30 5 Series, along with a lower air intake split in half from X2. However, the rear is completely different and actually looks more like an XM with the license plate recess mounted low on the bumper, although the “pincer” taillights of the old G01 facelift are still present.
The new X3 is said to have a low drag coefficient of just 0.27, with reduced lift at the rear. It will also have wider tracks, a stiffer body and retuned suspension, including 19% more caster for improved directional stability. You’ll also get more direct steering and revised anti-roll bars, which improve handling without compromising ride comfort.
Like all new BMWs, the X3 will come with a curved widescreen display, here linked to the same Android-based operating system. BMW Operating System 9 like X1, X2 and 2 Series Active Tourer; For the first time, the system will come with an iDrive rotary controller.
You also get My Mode which lets you adjust the optional adaptive dampers, among other things. An extensive list of driver assistance features includes Active Lane Change Assistant and Parking and Steering Assistant, which allows you to control the vehicle from the outside using your smartphone.
Specifications have not been announced yet but Initial test drive report suggests that the new X3 will be built on the same Cluster Architecture (CLAR), although a revised WE version is used on the G60 5 Series and G70 7 Series. Power will come from the usual B48 gasoline and B47 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engines, including the xDrive30 with around 280 horsepower.
Moving up the ladder, you’ll find the M Performance model, the M50, which uses a B58 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six good for about 390 horsepower. There will also be an xDrive30e plug-in hybrid version with a total of 300 horsepower and an all-electric range of around 60 miles. It’s unclear whether the gas-powered X3 M will continue to be offered, but information on the grapevine suggests it’s still codenamed G97.
Also, electricity iX3 Derivatives will be deprecated after just one generation. Its replacement will be built on a completely different Neue Klasse architecture and has been previewed by Neue Klasse X vision idea.
