The EV tax credit continues to take shape, and it could mean cheaper leases. Washington and Oregon join California to ban electric-only cars by 2035. Guidelines released by the US Treasury Department on Thursday confirm that buyers of certain electric vehicles will be eligible to receive $7,500 EV tax credit starting January 1—though likely only until the end of March. And a new loophole could allow automakers with foreign-made electric vehicles to put credit on subsidized leases.
