Honda Super Cub modified by Enggal Deeper customizations Honda Super Cube the more we went to the rabbit hole, the more workshops we saw that excelled in that particular art form. Based in Banyuwangi, in the East Java region of Indonesia, Enggal Modified has a portfolio packed with Cuban customs – including several ‘BMX Cub’ versions.

The bike we’re looking at here is not only beautiful, but a lot faster than it looks. That’s because it’s actually powered by the 225 cc engine of a Yamaha Scorpio.

Enggal didn’t tell us exactly what chassis they’ve factory-packed the Scorpio in, but we do get some insight into its suspension. The front end is different from the Honda C70, but it has been heavily reworked in the Springer style. Meanwhile, the rear is supported by a pair of piggyback shock absorbers from Ride It.

The bodywork is a combination of custom and modified OEM bits. It also looks murderous; combine street tracker and cafe racer but adjust them to fit the scooter’s stature. The Cub’s 17” wheels are wrapped in Swallow tyres, adding a bit of vintage style.

Up in the cockpit, you’ll see a bike body combined with a modified handlebar. The headlight is a small LED unit, the grips are from Koso and the switches are aftermarket items. Custom foot control and a solo seat with pleated upholstery completes everything.

Then there’s Cub’s metallic olive green paint job, which is both simple and gorgeous. Sweet little looks like these are the reason we never get tired of custom underbone scooters. [Enggal Modified]

2023 Triumph Street Triple 765 RS
2023 Triumph Street Triple 765 One of the industry’s biggest trade shows, EICMA, opens this week. But some brands weren’t content to wait to introduce their latest creation. Joining that list is Triumph, with revisions Street Triple 765.

The Street Triple 765 is one of our favorite motorcycles — it’s quick, it looks wild, and it’s almost clairvoyant how it responds to rider input.

2023 Triumph Street Triple 765 RS
The 2023 model raises the bar ahead, with modifications to the engine, bodywork and standard equipment. It is also currently available in three models: the ‘base’ model Street Triple R, the upgraded Street Triple RS and a new limited edition Street Triple Moto2 Edition.

All three have the same engine updates. Street Triple’s 765 cc three-cylinder engine now makes 120 PS [118.4 hp] above R and 130 PS [128.2 hp] on RS and Moto2 Edition. Updates include a higher compression ratio and new pistons, connecting rods, gudgeon pins, valves and camshafts.

Maximum torque is 80 Nm at 9,500 rpm, but Triumph says it’s been going strong from 7,500 rpm. The new Street Triple also has a revised transmission with a shorter ratio, a new slip assist clutch and quick gearshifts as standard.

Triumph has also optimized the swingarm, improving both torsional stiffness and lateral flexibility. The RS and Moto2 Edition benefit more from a steeper rake and a raised rear end for quicker handling. The R and RS get wider handlebars than before, while the Moto2 Edition actually has a grip bar, positioned forward and low.

Suspension specs show full Showa (R) fork, Showa with Öhlins shock absorber (RS) and full Öhlins setup (Moto2 Edition). They are fully adjustable at both ends, for all three bikes.

Brembo brakes are also present, upgraded to the brand’s Styleema system on the front end of the RS and Moto2 Edition. The electronics package has also been improved, with two higher spec bikes featuring a new 5” TFT display.

Then there’s the enhanced styling of the Street Triple. It’s not a huge leap over the previous model, but it’s significantly more powerful and now runs with the same slim headlights as the Speed Triple 1200 RS. The RS also has a removable passenger seat cover, for a sportier look.

There’s also a whole new set of liveries, but none look quite as colorful as the ‘Triumph Racing Yellow’ option on the Moto2 Edition. It’s also worth reiterating that this version features all carbon components and will be limited to 765 pieces worldwide.

Prices are yet to be announced, but we’ve already started saving. [Triumph Street Triple 765]

Custom Ducati 900SS by Codex Moto
Codex Moto’s Ducati 900SS Nick, who builds bikes with the nickname Codex Moto, has a story we can all relate to. He has what he calls “normie “and built this Ducati 900SS simply because he saw an idea that resonated with him. But once he started, things soon got out of hand.

We’re glad they did, though, because this 900SS is just as gorgeous as they come. Nick’s custom Ducatis inspired XTR Pepo, Walt Siegl and especially Speedy Siegl Racing’s 900SS (not related to Walt).

One of Nick’s must-haves is a Yamaha TZ250 style tailpiece, with a silencer under the saddle. So he shaped a prototype out of foam, and sent it to Catskill Mountain Customs to shape it out of aluminum. The car almost ended up with a fiberglass crank, but Nick thought it best for the parts to fit together — so Catskill also shaped it in aluminum.

The subframe was modified to accommodate the new tail section, before Nick powder coated the entire frame in gold. If the paint color looks familiar, that’s because it was inspired by the legendary Ducati TT1 racing car from the 1980s.

There’s a lot to admire below. Nick has treated the engine to a serious clean, with key components finished in black. There’s an open clutch and open belt loops, plus a pair of Keihin FCR41 cabins for a little extra pep. The titanium exhaust is from Strada Fab, and was built specifically for this car.

Going deeper, Nick ripped off the wiring and assembled the bike with a bunch of Motogadget parts – including the German brand Chronoclassic speedo. The Revival Cycles switches and the JW Speaker headlights round out the list.

If you like what you see, we have good news: Nick is ready to sell this Ducati and move on to the next one. Hit him up Instagram if this will look good in your garage (or living room). [Via]

Suzuki GSX-R1100 cafe racer by Mr Martini
Suzuki GSX-R1100 by Mr Martini Nobody built them like Nicola Martini. The Italian builder moves to the beat of his own drums — but it’s the beat of creating compelling custom motorcycles. Example: this beautiful cafe racer was built from a 1991 Suzuki GSX-R1100.

Mr. Martini’s take on the iconic GSX-R truly amplified its boxed aluminum frame and large four-cylinder engine, but added custom bodywork to completely reinterpret the genre. With a bit of classic endurance racing style thrown in, this is a mix that is unlikely to work great.

The bike actually came to Mr Martini with a bunch of modifications done, but it was “definitely ugly”. So he removed it to reveal its special frame and rebuilt the subframe for a neater look.

Up top is the GSX-R’s reserve fuel tank, now matched with a custom tailpiece made from fiber-reinforced plastic. It’s limited to the folding and roll-up seat style you’ll often find on Mr Martini bikes, with the classic round taillights protruding from the rear.

A trimmed Ducati style crank does the front duty, mounted on a custom rack system. A single headlight protrudes forward, with a Suzuki OEM dial mounted behind. Other additions include Tomaselli brake calipers, striped side mirrors and small LED turn signals.

Neck of the engine, but it breathes in through K&N filters and out through a chunky Supertrapp silencer. As for the paint job, it’s as great as you’d expect from Mr. Martini. Made by paint shop +39Kustom, it combines a metallic blue front half with a black rear half.

Bellissimo! [Via]
