A little while ago we covered the incredible work of @SpinaSanctuary and theirs Small number of Star Travels, inspired by Zelda 64. The final wave focuses on the crew of the USS Enterprise from Star Trek: The Next Generationdisplay them in brilliant 64-bit blocks with a variety of instruments – Data with his violin, Riker with his trombone and Picard with his Ressikan flute.
Now the artist has moved on Deep spacedarker ‘inferior’ series in stable Star Trek (like Majora’s mask, in fact) are all the fun things kids love these days. That’s not a bit – it’s actually great! — but it will certainly take longer for the broader Trek audience to embrace the DS9 to its general development with the same excitement that TNG enjoyed throughout its ’90s.
As you can see in the tweet below, the first thing the artist took care of was the show’s evocative introduction, complete with a 64-bit rendition of Dennis McCarthy’s main theme. Check out the intro below, which includes the opening comet, graceful station sweeps, the appearance of a wormhole, and a swooping USS Defiant with the title tag, revealing:

We are children, we welcome all who come! Here is the original for your deep space exploration. What is this? You prefer calmer, more flashy Season version 4-7 with Defiant and more ships? Well, around these parts, we like the earlier intro to be more contemplative, even if SpinaSanctuary’s version replaces the run with Defiant. Complaints to the usual address:
