Think for a moment about Nintendo’s biggest games of 2022. Already have Legendary Pokémon: Arceus, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Xenoblade Chronicles, blade and Splatoon 3, Pokémon Scarlet and VioletThe list goes on and on. Then don’t you think it makes sense for the company to use one of these in a humorous festive pose for its usual ‘Happy Holidays’ social media post, right?

So what did @NintendoEurope Decided to go for this year? Isn’t that cute picture of Pawmi and Fuecoco frolicking in the snow? Perhaps a giant snowball shaped like Kirby or Camp Gura Flava experiencing a heavy frost? No, it was a post from @SplatoonJP of one Inkling and two Octoling. And they just stood there…

For an original piece of art, this is certainly pretty cool, but what about a post about spreading Christmas cheer? We can think of a few images that might be a little more sympathetic.

we suppose – and here’s the real problem here – that the main color of the image is green, which is definitely one of the main colors of Christmas and blobs to be wear jackets and overalls. But wait! If you squint closely at the top right, there’s definitely something that looks like a snowflake up there! Take out my cookies and call me Rudolph, we guess To be a Christmas post after all!

We’re sure there will be more official Nintendo good news on social media in the coming days – Mario and Luigi are forced to snowball fights and the like – but we can’t no giggling at how the company seems to be kicking off the season in the least festive ways!
