Pokemon Anime Reveals Two New Protagonists Say Goodbye to Ash.
Pokemon Company International has announced the new season of Pokemon Pokemon anime series, along with a final goodbye for longtime protagonist Ash and his partner Pikachu. Two new main characters will take the throne in the new season. It will begin airing in Japan in April 2023.
In a big start for Pokemon series, Ash and his partner Pikachu will retreat from the limelight to make way for two brand new protagonists. Their names are Riko and Roy in the Japanese anime version. Their names in the English dub have yet to be revealed. The trailer also shows a mysterious Shiny Rayquaza.
We do not know where this season of Pokemon anime will bring in new main characters. However, they will be joined by Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly, the three beginners of the Paldea Region in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

A series of special episodes to celebrate the end of Ash and Pikachu’s adventures have also been announced. The first one is titled “The Blue Sky Far Away,” and it will follow Ash and Pikachu on one of their usual special days. They meet a strange boy while traveling through the forest. It takes on the classic style of the original 1997 anime. This episode will air in Japan on December 23, 2022.

“Pokemon: Become a Pokemon Master,” an 11-episode special that will conclude Ash’s adventures, having fulfilled his dream of becoming the Alliance Champion of the Galar Region in Pokemon Journey: Series. This new arc will begin to air in Japan on January 13, 2023. The English broadcast will follow shortly thereafter in early 2023.
