Getting on and off public transport can be a boring task at the best of times and a total nightmare at the worst. But what if instead of paying for the bus with ordinary people’s hard-earned money, we could use all that we get in video games, such as rupee?

Please solve this problem soon, this is really not possible. Though it’s a nice thought.

The idea was pitched on Twitter by @LotteMakesStuff who seems to be able to use a copy of Legend of Zelda for the Famicom Disk System as a public transport card. Seriously, just check out the following tweet. That is sure a copy of the game and those machines are sure accept it as payment.

Of course, this method won’t actually get you on board – although we did our best to insert a copy of Virtual hourglass into the fence on Baker Street. What we’re seeing is just a transit pass case from one of Japan’s Nintendo Stores, which offers an affordable method to keep your cards ready on the bus.

Wanting to discourage people from going out into the wild, Famicom Disk in hand, trying to swipe their copy Kid Icarus To secure a spot on the subway, Lotte was kind enough to provide a follow-up tweet explaining all of this. Pfft, we don’t plan at all actually try it…

If this finding has made one thing clear, it’s that our travel cards aren’t nearly as appealing enough. Anyone have a trip to Japan?
