Student Club is free for students worldwide. The only major requirement is that you are pursuing a higher education academic qualification (defined as “any honors awarded by colleges and/or universities to indicate completion of a course of study or level of academic achievement”) between the ages of 18 and 30.

This program operates as a subset of Qatar Airways Privilege Club loyalty programso if you join, you’ll still earn Avios.

Joining is easy and done through Qatar Airways website. You can even log in with a social media account. You must provide the name and location of the college or university, your expected graduation date, and a student ID photo or letter of engagement. The maximum term for membership in the program is seven years.

As a member of the Qatar Airways Student Club, you’ll enjoy a number of exclusive benefits that will help you save money and make your travel experience more enjoyable. For starters, you’ll enjoy special fares on flights. You’ll receive a 10% promo code when you join, 15% off after your first trip, and 20% off after your second and third trips.

Additionally, student fares offer greater flexibility, including one free date change per ticket.

When it’s time to travel, junior members can bring an extra 10 kilograms (about 22 pounds) or an extra piece of checked baggage, depending on the route. Then, on board, you’ll get free access Qatar Airways high-speed Wi-Fi (as long as you booked your flight directly with the airline).

As a “graduation gift”, you will receive an upgrade to the Perks Club level as long as you have flown at least one paid round trip per year as a Student Club member. So if you don’t already have status with the airline, you’ll get Silver Elite status for free, which unlocks perks like excess baggage allowance and lounge access.

If you are already a top-level Platinum member, your status will be extended for another year.

The Student Club also offers a companion pass, where members can choose up to three family members and friends to travel with to share discounted fares and free date change benefits in one trip go designated which they go together.
