What an exciting moment for PlayStation players, as the Insomniac team just wrapped up a gripping console at San Diego Comic-Con with amazing new revelations from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This includes a first look at the PS5 Console – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle, featuring a custom PS5 console case design and matching DualSense wireless controllers.
Today, we’re excited to release these stunning designs to our fans because of the way they represent the look and feel of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The threat of Venom and the symbiote will be one of the most formidable challenges our two Spider-Mans will face in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This is why we wanted to reflect the symbiote’s intensity and its transformation and power with a design takeover for the PS5 console and DualSense wireless controllers.
The front cover of the PS5 shows symbiote veins aggressively crawling close to the Spider-Man logo, threatening to consume the last of the remaining bright red. The symbiote has been fully linked to the back of the PS5 console with the iconic white Spider-Man logo from Insomniac’s Advanced Suit on display. On the DualSense wireless controller, you can see that a larger portion of the controller has been taken over by the symbiote design.
It’s been great to collaborate with the teams at Insomniac Games and Marvel on this new look for the PS5 console and DualSense controllers. Here’s Senior Art Director Jacinda Chew, who shares her thoughts behind the design inspiration:
“The symbiote-inspired design in the game is taking over consoles and controllers, but you can still see some red underneath the veins. This represents the many different ways players will experience the symbiote takeover in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. It’s a constant push for dominance whether it’s internal or external, and the outcome is uncertain.”

PS5 Console – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition Bundle will be released on September 15 in Malaysia and on October 20 in the Philippines and Vietnam. PS5 Case – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition, PS5 Digital Edition Case – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition and DualSense Wireless Controller – Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Limited Edition will be on sale from September 1 in Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam.
For players who purchase the full PS5 bundle, the bundled game voucher can be redeemed when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 released on October 20.
