Proton EV brand naming contest – 22k guess the Geely Galaxy E5 model name, ends June 5

If you don’t know, Proton will soon launch a new EV-branded electric car. Earlier this month, Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net) announced one Brand naming contestcalled the Proton EV Brand Name Competition.

The competition ends on June 5 (11:59 p.m.), which means there are six days left for you to enter. To do so, fill out the registration form, enter your predicted image and match the images in the order of the given sentences. You will then have a chance to win the grand prize of RM5,000 in cash, or RM1,500 for second prize, RM1,000 for third prize and RM100 for the other top 5 entries. Pro-Net says it has received more than 22,440 entries to date

The competition announcement featured a teaser of a sketch, implicitly confirming that the new Proton EV will be based on the The Geely Galaxy E5 was revealed earlier this month – that SUV’s roof rails and slim headlights are clearly visible in the outline.

The E5 has been widely touted as Proton’s EV sponsorship car, as it is said to have been developed for the right-hand drive market. The E5 is based on the new Global Smart Energy Architecture (GEA), an evolution of Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), which supports not only full electric vehicles but also powertrains. range extender, plug-in hybrid and methanol.

Larger than the Proton X70, the E5 is a C-segment SUV with a length of 4,615 mm and a width of 1,901 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. There are no technical details yet, but reports suggest the EV will be powered by a single 218 PS (160 kW) motor for a top speed of 175 km/h, paired with a lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP).
