JOB TITLE: Program management
REPORT TO: Deputy CEO

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to join our team. Program managers oversee all education and advocacy programs: volunteers, interns, events, outreach, campaigns, social media, and digital marketing. Our ideal candidate has project coordination and people management skills. Program managers will also have to improve and relaunch programs that have been dormant during the pandemic, such as volunteering, outreach and in-person events.

RESPONSIBILITY

Management

  • Supervising staff in the Program Department
  • Meet weekly with the VP for reporting and strategy
  • Conduct ongoing and one-on-one team meetings as needed
  • Hire, train, lead and motivate their employees

Campaigns

  • Food for Thought campaign monitoring; Animal Place’s Oldest and Biggest Campaign
  • Collaborate with humanitarian education officers to launch and monitor advocacy campaigns
  • Track the effectiveness of each campaign

Marketing and Communication

  • Monitor and provide support to social media coordinators to identify and measure content performance for each channel, including Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, TikTok and Twitter
  • Monitor website content creation and ensure content is up to date. Monitor and ensure that Animal Place websites are running efficiently and safely
  • Work with newsletter editors to develop annual progress of quarterly newsletter production. Work in a team environment to define newsletter content and assign writing responsibilities. Oversaw newsletter production from content, copy editing, design and printing
  • Work with staff to develop content, edit, and monitor the effectiveness of weekly email communications with supporters

Virtual Events & Outreach

  • Develop an annual calendar and budget for virtual events
  • Build progress and implementation for each event
  • Oversaw several major events including the Live Animals Electronic Conference and Thank You for the Turkeys
  • Discover, develop and launch new virtual educational events and seminars
  • Ensure expected attendance, income and expenses are met for each event
  • Research virtual speaking opportunities

RESET THE PROGRAMS REGULARLY POST COVID

Volunteer / Trainee

  • Re-establish volunteering and internship programs
  • Once programs are established, hire and train volunteer coordinators

Live events and outreach

  • Monitor specific off-site gambling events for Animal Sites and Rescue & Adoption Centers
  • Plan and execute larger on-site events such as Farmed Animals Conference, Pasture Music, Community Day, Thank You Turkey, Fun Run, Mother’s Day Brunch, and Mother’s Day community
  • Discover new events to host on-site at Animal Place
  • Ensure expected attendance, income and expenses are met for each event
  • Research and secure a speaking opportunity
  • Supervision of training and approval of travel documents

Commercial businesses

  • Directing and supervising the purchase and sale of goods
  • Monitor and delegate Guest House responsibilities including AirBnb booking, Checkfront (booking platform), reservations, guest communication and home maintenance

ACCREDITATION

  • Strong commitment to Animal Place’s mission of vegetarian and animal rights
  • Three or more years of experience in management
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively lead program staff to create a cohesive and positive work environment
  • Players in a team and want to work collaboratively
  • Ability to strategize, problem solve and take initiative
  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects
  • Learn from Salesforce, Classy and Pardot
  • In-depth understanding of pet animal issues and vegan diets
  • Public speaking skills are prioritized
  • Vegan

WAGE: $45,000-50,000 per year depending on experience

BENEFITS: Health insurance after 90 days probation, 403b, convalescence package and sick time’

POSITION: This location is outside the main reserve in Grass Valley, Ca .
