Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim met with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk via video call, attended by Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz; media and digital minister Ahmad Fahmi bin Mohamed Fadzil as well as Lauren Dreyer, senior director of SpaceX.
In an official statement, Anwar said he welcomes Tesla’s investment decisions and interest in Malaysia as well as the opportunity for Musk to visit the country. He also congratulated the electric vehicle (EV) maker for opening a local office along with Tesla experience and service centers in Selangor this year.
