Heather “The Heat” Hardy returned to the ring on Thursday night after nearly a year and a half off. The pandemic and a hand injury have prevented the 40-year-old former world featherweight from embarking on a trade. However, now Hardy will be the headline Boxing Insider’s The “New Beginnings” card, will appear at Sony Hall in Time’s Square and will also feature a lot of talent in New York.

A famous Brooklyn-born boxer, Hardy won the WBO world featherweight championship in 2018 defeating Shelly Vincent in their exciting 2016 fight rematch. Hardy went on to lose the weight class title to Amanda Serrano in the weight division in 2019 before deciding to eliminate Jessica Camara in 2021. The boxer known as “The Heat” is expected to return to face Terri Harper in earlier this year but Hardy’s hand injury kept that match from happening.

Now, on Thursday night, February 22nd Hardy will finally get a chance to slip mid-rope to answer the bell again. Although not well known, Hardy’s opponent, Silgado 20-15-3, is not to be underestimated. After all, the 34-year-old veteran boxer has faced the likes of Mikaela Mayer, so she’s used to facing a highly regarded opponent. The Hardy-Silgado match is scheduled for 6 o’clock.

Welterweight Ivan Golub will also be on the cards on Thursday. The Brooklyn-based Ukrainian 21-0 will face Wesley Tucker 15-3 in a scheduled 10 round. The last time Golub beat Eric Walker by decision was in August 2021. Tucker was last spotted knocking out Eric Palmer in the first round that same month.

Super middleweight 10-1 Nadim Salloum is also scheduled to see the action on Thursday night. The colorful Lebanese boxer with an impressive fan base will face Leandro Capozucco 4-0 in a match scheduled for June 6. Salloum won Elie Augustama by decision last May last year. while Capozucco decides Enrique Reyes in August. This will be their 3rd fight in 2022.

Flyweight undefeated Andy Dominguez will also appear on the “New Beginnings” card, facing Ricardo Caraballo in their 8th set match. As for Caraballo, he was on the verge of a decisive victory over Austin Rivas last February. Caraballo’s lone loss happened in his first game, and that was in 2012.

Finally, 16-3-2 welterweight rival Petros Ananyan will knock out Cesar Galdino 12-5 on Thursday in a scheduled 8th round match. The last time Ananyan acted was in January when he was defeated by Subriel Matias. Galdino, on the other hand, was last seen passing Daniel Gonzalez in May.
