President Biden Didn’t Break Royal Rite By Touching King Charles

The late Queen Elizabeth II describes the former President Donald Trump was “a mystery” after he famously walked in front of the monarch during a military inspection at Windsor Castle. Fortunately King Charles seems to have been more warmly received with President Joe Biden who received a guard of honor at Windsor Castle on Monday.

Despite reports that Biden broke royal etiquette by walking in front of the monarch and touching the king — Biden was seen holding Charles’ arm and patting him on the back — palace sources revealed that the two men enjoyed an intimate meeting, which strengthens the special relationship between Great Britain and Great Britain. America.

While Charles was seen encouraging Biden to come along during their inspection of the Welsh Guards at Windsor Castle (the king is a tough time adherent), the two men were seen shaking hands each other and enjoyed a fun conversation and joking around during the proceedings, including playing “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Biden’s fleeting 24-hour visit to London was a great success. Although this was not a state visit, the red carpet was rolled out for Biden, who had tea with the king at Windsor Castle.

According to a palace source, the King did not mind the President walking ahead of him during the inspection of the honor guard. “Contrary to some reports, it was in fact the correct protocol,” said one palace aide, who confirmed that Charles was completely satisfied when Biden took his arm. The source said: “The king is completely at ease with that kind of contact, and what a wonderful symbol of warmth and affection between individuals and their nation.”

Charles and Biden last met at the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow in November 2021, where they held formal talks. On Monday, the men posed for pictures inside the grand hallway of Windsor Castle before holding talks on climate change, an issue the king cares a lot about.

Before the meeting with the king, Biden had tea with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in the garden of 10 Downing Street. Despite being accused of being “anti-British” following his recent trip to Ireland and Northern Ireland and not attending the coronation, Biden still wants to point out that US-UK relations are “solid as rock”.

Biden has also asked to fly the British flag on his car – known as the “beast” – during his fleeting visit to London. The president is currently on his way to Lithuania for a NATO summit.
