Police arrest 15-year-old for deadly shooting in North Carolina
Police officers say that the person responsible for the deadly shooting that occurred in North Carolina on Thursday was a 15-year-old man in critical condition.
Officers say they recovered a handgun and a “long gun” after the shooting, which left five people dead and two injured.
A source with direct knowledge of the situation told CNN that the suspect had a camouflage book bag and was wearing camouflage clothing at the time of the crime.
President Biden spoke about the incident and stated:
We grieve and pray for so many families who have shouldered the terrible burden of these mass shootings.
The President added:
We must pass a ban on assault weapons. The American people support this absurd act of getting weapons of war off our streets.
Officers have yet to give a motive but said police arrested the suspect after a wait.
The victims were Nicole Conners, 52 years old; Sue Karnatz, 49 years old; Mary Marshall, 35 years old; James Roger Thompson, 16 years old; and Gabriel Torres, 29, a police officer leaving office on his way to work.
