The latest wishlist of games has been announced in Famitsu, which measures the most anticipated titles according to the Japanese website’s readership. The most recent edition (using votes from October 27 to November 1) saw a new lead as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet pass the podium consistently The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the most desired game by readers.
On the one hand, this is not surprising. Votes were taken before Scarlet and Violet were released November 18 and passion for Pokémon is often higher in Japan than in any other location. This being said, games have never been at the top of Famitsu’s list (usually the battle between Tears of the Kingdom and Final Fantasy XVI on PlayStation 5).
While the winning margin is narrow in this week’s results – Scarlet and Violet took home 784 against Final Fantasy and Zelda’s 758 and 747 respectively – Pokémon could take the top spot showing the franchise is becoming more popular than Zelda? We imagine that the game’s upcoming release is the most likely reason behind its popularity, but you never know…
