OPEN: Have you noticed any big viral moments where the internet is exploding?
AL: Yeah, I loved that Chloë moment at Proenza—she’s one of my style icons, so it’s fun to watch. But I think one thing that stands out in my mind is this viral image that has been shared all over Twitter and TikTok. And I’m sure you know what I’m talking about, but here’s Anna Wintour sitting in the second row in a completely deserted venue where the Collina Strada performance was held. And people, I think, just lost their minds.
First of all, when I saw that photo, I just brushed it off because I thought, “Oh, that’s funny – Photoshop. I don’t know why anyone would do that.” It really didn’t happen until I went to see a show the next morning, and some of us talked about it when we walked out. And I realized, no, that’s actually Anna Wintour sitting alone in the back of an empty Collina Strada performance. But I think the reason why the Internet has lost its mind is because people don’t really understand and often see what it really feels like to go to these performances and what the environment is like and why maybe she’s sitting there. Like, what does that mean? … We thought about that more, and we figured out the theory was that we thought it would make more sense for her to sit in the corner later. Apparently, she always likes everything in the front row. But she was sitting in his back corner, and it was right next to the elevator. And as we all know, [Wintour] like first in first out. So I believe the show’s over, and everyone’s moved out, and she’s waiting to be able to go out on her own and just run to the elevator and, you know, go to the show. next show.
