Photo mode now available in God of War Ragnarök – PlayStation.Blog


God of War Ragnarok is now ready for the picture! With our latest update, you will now have access to the Photo Mode feature.

Since the release of photo mode in God of War (2018), we’ve been continually amazed at the amount of talent and passion in the Video Game Photographers community that has gathered for the game.

From the quiet moments with Kratos and Atreus, to the elegant and brutal fight scenes with flying ice and fire – the range of God of War photographers has always been a constant source of inspiration for the team. ours.

With this latest update to God of War Ragnarök, we are happy to finally be able to give you all access to Photo Mode in this game!

Ragnarök God of War – Photo Mode Feature

  • Apply expressions to the following characters in a scene:
    • Kratos, Atreus, Freya, Brok, Sindri, Tyr, Angrboda, Thor and Thrúd

All images in this article were taken on PS5

  • Hide protagonist or minor character in a scene

  • Adjust camera controls with:
    • View
    • Focal length
    • camera roll

  • Adjust shutter control with:
    • Depth of field
    • Focus distance
    • F-Stop

  • Adjust brightness and filters with:
    • film grain
    • Exposure
    • Intensity filter, with better controls for Vibration and Saturation

  • Apply textures, borders and logos

To get you started, we asked Studio Santa Monica Photo Mode enthusiast and Quality Assurance Lead Tim Ward for some tips (and great photos)!

Photo mode tips

  1. Adjust Filter strength, vibrateand saturation on your desired filter for a wider color range.

  1. It is certain that more textures when appropriate to deliver your shot deeper.
  1. Do not be shy roll the camera a bit, especially when shooting combat. It can make your screenshots feel more dynamic and unlike the camera that always shoots from a fixed horizontal position.

  1. If you like vertical shooting, you can scroll 90 degree camera to give you much needed headroom.
  1. Remember, light is everything! Your screenshots will really stand out if your subject is properly lit. Know where your light source is when entering Photo Mode to give your subject the right visibility.

  1. Take your time Look for a photo you’re happy with. A lot of times, you might enter photo mode thinking only to take a particular photo to find something better in that moment. Explore with the camera and move around the scene and see what jumps out of you.
