Perodua has announced that it delivered 32,179 vehicles in March 2023, 29% higher than the 24,936 units sold in February this yearat the same time 20.2% higher than the 26,759 units sold in the same month last year.

“These achievements can be attributed to a number of factors, such as our efforts to fulfill Penjana’s orders before it is released. the deadline is March 31, 2023manufacturing improvements across the entire supplier ecosystem and better coordination within our sales network,” said Perodua President and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad.

With this, the automaker’s sales for the first quarter of 2023 were 78,564 units, up 27.5 percent year-on-year in 2022 with 61,624 units delivered. “Despite these achievements, there are still a small number of Penjana orders that we cannot fulfill; For these customers, we will honor the guaranteed sales exemption under the initiative, and we apologize for keeping you waiting,” Zainal said.

In terms of volume, Perodua’s manufacturing division produced 33,666 units last month, bringing the year-to-date (YTD) total to 84,800 units. This is 33.9% more than the 63,325 units produced in the first quarter of 2022.

In the coming months, Zainal said Perodua will continue to build on these achievements as the order banks for their models continue to do well. He added that sustained production growth has helped reduce wait times for certain models.

“In fact, for some of our models, waiting times have been significantly reduced; Only specific models like the Bezza, Axia, and Alza, Zainal explained, will have slightly longer wait times based on their respective variants and colors.

In 2023, Perodua said in January that it was targeting record sales 314,000 units – 11.3% compared to 282,019 units in 2022 – with a production target of 330,000 vehicles.
