Penrite Fork Oil
Fork oil is a hydraulic oil specifically designed to compress and withstand impact loads. Fork oil lubricates and protects the suspension system from damage.
Many modern motorcycles use a telescopic fork arrangement that acts as the front spring and shock absorber. They are contained inside the telescopic tubes, which connect and suspend the front wheel to the frame via a yolk. Fork oil is the specialized hydraulic oil used in these types of suspension systems and is used to adjust the damping characteristics of these telescopic tubes.
Fork oils are available in different viscosities, base oils and hydraulic configurations. In general, lower viscosity results in a stiffer and stiffer ride quality, and higher viscosity leads to smoother, more consistent ride quality.
Fork oil produced by Penrite is available in 5W, 10W and 15W viscosities. Penrite Fork Oil is a fully synthetic, very high viscosity index oil and is formulated from a special combination of synthetic base oils, viscosity modifiers, antiwear and Extreme Pressure additives. For fork and suspension requiring SAE 20W, Penrite HPSO and Penrite Shocker Oil No 2 are available options.
