2022 New York Auto Show


NEW YORK – In case you missed it, New York Auto Show took place this year after being canceled in the whole year 2020 and in 2021 due to Covid. A lot of manufacturers have had the effect, but not everyone. No problem, we’ve been there and we’ve brought you news, photos and information from the floor throughout the show. That disclosure TellurideFirst major refresh in New York and it makes three intersection a little more desirable without spoiling what we liked about it before. There’s a new version of the X-Line and X-Pro for those who might want a little more off-road ability and some tech improvements. Most notably, a newly designed control panel features a new and larger display.

Hyundai’s Telluride sister car is similarly refreshed. Like the Telluride, Hyundai has launched Palisade slightly revised appearance, new off-road trim (called XRT in the Palisade’s case), more tech inside and a new dash design with full-width air vents. If we had to choose, we’d be a bit more impressed with the Telluride refresh, as some of our employees actually prefer the pre-refreshed Palisade look to the new one.

This is unavoidable. Jeep reveals longer, more spacious versions of it Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer in New York and surnames are denoted by an “L” at the end of their name. Total length is increased by one foot and wheelbase is increased by 7 inches compared to standard Wagoneer models. Basically, Jeep has allocated all this extra space to the cargo area, as it now offers a staggering 44.2 cubic feet of space behind the third row of seats.

Beside L, Jeep announced that Hurricane’s new inline-six engine will find its first home in the Wagoneer. Performance is up a bit, and power is more than adequate at 420 hp (standard output) or 510 hp (high-power version) from the twin-turbo I-6.

The Stellantis party continues with Chrysler and its slightly modified Airflow. Restyled for the New York market after its debut in CES in Las VegasThe Airflow Concept gets a new paint job, prominent color changes, a slightly altered interior design, and a new interpretation of the Chrysler logo.

This is our first chance to get a first-hand look at the new product Kia Niro The models went our way, and we were impressed. It features an all-new design, massaging powertrain in all three variants, and an EV6-inspired interior. We even got to get a a little dive into the outstanding Aero Blade Design features seen on all new Niros.

Here’s one of the show’s small premieres – Subaru didn’t even hold a press conference. But Remote was there on the show floor and it showed inspired by the new Wild look. The bumper is much more prominent, it has new front lights and Subaru has outfitted it with some new tech features.

One year from date Brand new Pathfinderand Nissan just added off-road-focused Rock Creek trim. It has a slightly modified, stronger suspension on premium fuel, off-road tires, and a fairly comprehensive styling package. We liked how it looked on the show floor, and while it may not be a super powerful SUV, having the option of a more rugged-looking SUV seems like a good thing to have. authorized dealer these days.

The Leaf is being overtaken by electric vehicles with longer range, better technology and more power, but that hasn’t stopped Nissan from giving it a small boost. It has a new grille, illuminated Nissan logo, novel wheels and some aerodynamic improvements.

This special edition Ford GT honor the car that finished third at the 24 hour race in 1966 Le Mans. It recreates the look of that car through matching paintwork, red accents and some other small details. Ford displayed it next to the car that raced at Le Mans in 1966, making it a great display for any racing history enthusiast.

A collaboration between Williams Engineering, Italdesign and Deus, this electric supercar is planned for super low production but extremely high performance. Output means “more than 2,200 hp,” and it has a claimed 0-62 mph time of 1.99 seconds. Only 99 were built, but we knew it was going to be a tough, hard fight to finish. Maybe, just maybe, you’ll see a Deus outside NY Auto Show stand one day.

Yes, that’s another Huracán variation. This one steals a lot go fast STO parts, but put them together for a much more subdued appearance. It does well to make the look stand out and set itself apart from other Huracans, and the 631 hp sent to the rear wheel sounds like an Italian supercar.

2023 BMW X7 M60i

BMW didn’t bring it to the show floor, but we still have to see the refreshed ones X7 in New York this week. The design both inside and out have been greatly improved. Its looks certainly aren’t for everyone, but no one can deny that the car is making a turn. We’re impressed with the new interior and the huge performance boost for the base xDrive40i powertrain, giving the entry-level X7 a whopping 375 hp.

Launched with the regular X7 as Alpina XB7 has received its own styling tweaks to keep it up to date. It also added 8 hp, bringing power to 621 hp from the twin-turbo V8.

Genesis X Speedium Coupe

It’s not on the show floor, but Genesis still revealed it in New York in car show time. The X Speedium Coupe Concept is the most beautiful thing there is. Its spin/fast forward brake design is long and wide, and its proportions make it a stunner. The concept is electric, and while Genesis hasn’t committed to putting it into production, we can expect we’ll see it on the road one day.

Fiat 500 electric

For whatever reason, Fiat brought the Europe-only 500 electric car to NY our Joel Stocksdale took a close look at it, and made a case for why Stellantis should bring mini electric cars to the US.

Radwood shows up with an epic car collection from the 1980s and 1990s. They’re easily the most fun part of the show, and if you’re in town, you can simply check out this group of vehicles at the Javits Center.

Finally, Alfa brought Tonale Let us check in a gorgeous Montreal Green paint color. It’s a sharp little crossover in the flesh and we’re really looking forward to seeing how this Alfa performs.
