PEBS Selangor to run a public policy contest on how to tackle traffic congestion – propose your idea

Over the past few weeks, motorists have complained about increasing levels of traffic congestion in the Klang Valley. Politicians have delved into the matter, from declaring that the government needs to solve the problem immediately arrive significantly increase the coverage of public transport.

That is the view of policymakers, and are you, the driver (or passenger), perhaps tired of inching through the traffic? Do you have any ideas on how to improve the situation? If you do, then you should advertise for them in a Public Policy Contest titled “How to Solve Traffic Jams”.

Organized by Penggerak Belia Selangor (PeBS), the contest invites adults and young people to share ideas on how to combat traffic woes. It is open to all Malaysians aged 17 to 30 and not just Join for free, there are cash prizes to be won, in this case RM1,000 to the team deemed by the judges to have come up with the best policy. Finishing in second place gets you RM800, and third place wins RM500.

Only 10 teams of up to three members (must meet the age requirements above) will receive on a first-come, first-served basis. Registered teams will then be placed on a waitlist and will be re-admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, in the event of dropouts. Successfully registered teams will be contacted by the PeBS team.

The two-day program includes a workshop on June 9 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., followed by a competition on June 16, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., with venues for These have been confirmed.
