Well, this is Gothenburg’s first mild hybrid vehicle to go on sale in Malaysia, perfect for those who don’t have the space at home to charge the company’s popular plug-in hybrid models. Under the bonnet is Volvo’s popular 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 249 hp and 350 Nm of torque.
Sandwiched between it and the eight-speed automatic transmission is an electric motor that produces 14 PS and 40 Nm, allowing the engine to start/stop smoother, reduce fuel consumption and increase power when acceleration. This large 7-seater SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 7.9 seconds, and is capable of returning a combined fuel consumption figure of 8.2 liters per 100 km.
Unlike previous petrol-powered XC90s, the B5 gets top-of-the-line Inscription Plus trim, with conveniences including large 20-inch alloy wheels, adaptive LED headlights, active air suspension, a sunroof and a sunroof. panorama, Orrefors crystal transmission, four-zone climate control and vehicle durability – Bowers and Wilkins surround sound system with 19 speakers and a whopping 1,400 watts of power.
And since this is a Volvo, you can expect it to come with all the safety features you could possibly need, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, reduced road collision mitigation and the company’s Pilot Assist system handles acceleration, braking and steering – enabling Level 2 semi-autonomous driving.
