Our Frozen Birthday – A Beautiful Message

My daughter just turned 4 and this year we let her choose the theme for her own party. She chose frozen because frozen (with Frozen 2 and Frozen Ever Afterr) is her obsession.

Since this is my second time passing though frozen During this period, I am more aware of how quickly they pass. I wanted to do something extra special this year and started brainstorming ideas for a frozen– themed birthday party.

Starting with the snow background (I left our snowflakes from Christmas on our windows for another month), the snowman, and the princess, I knew it would be fun to build a themed party.

It’s a nice bonus that many of these decorations can be reused in future Christmas decorations.

I decided to keep our decor minimal and lightly themed. I stay away from big characters and branded items, focusing instead on the snow theme, blue, white and purple colors, and the ice princess theme in general.

For decoration, I used a set these paper snowflakes hung on a chandelier.

To make the candy center, I ordered light blue M & Ms, sour ring, sour candy strip and blue and white lollipop like ice.

You can easily create an interesting display using only white and light blue candies. Other ideas you can add are marshmallows, white chocolate covered cookies, and white powdered sugar doughnuts.

Tips for choosing frozen birthday decoration

  • Focus on your child’s favorite character. Let them wear an outfit if they want to. Our daughter wears an Elsa dress almost daily, so we surprised her with a new one for her birthday.
  • Color coordination. Don’t worry about buying a bunch of branded items—just focus on the colors from the film and you’ll create the same (or even better) effect with less of the branding.

I found these edible snowflake decoration and they are ideal for adding to cupcakes, ice cream or truffles.

Here are some great cookie cutters you can use to create frozen cookie: Snowflakes, Elsa’s Crown and Olaf.
