Recovering from an 11th-place finish in the Kentucky Oaks (G1), Courtlandt Farms’ Our beautiful woman fended off a tense bidding from graded stakes winners Complicated to win 3/4 of Monomoy Girl’s $173,700 overnight stake on June 15 at Churchill Downs.
Her third win in five starts was her first at stakes level. Earlier this spring, she entered the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2), which earned her a spot in the May 3 Kentucky Oaks for Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen.
Having been beaten over 31 lengths at the Oaks on a sloppy track, Our Pretty Woman felt much more comfortable going over the fast surface with fewer companions than in Saturday’s race. Starting off the pace, she took command down the stretch and completed the 1/16 mile in 1:44.07 under Luis Saez. My 3 year old daughter Medaglia d’Oro a $900,000 purchase at the 2022 Keeneland September Yearling Sale, paid $4.02 to win as the favorite.

About an hour later on Saturday night’s show, another 1st grader was DJ Stable’s Webslinger , won the Chorleywood Overnight Stakes on his first start in the three-length turf contest. 4 year old boy Structure The gelding rallied from behind the fast early sections to take the lead going into the final 16 miles under Jose Ortiz. Cadet Mark Casse timed 2:14.58 on a solid field and returned $4.98 to win.
Stakes winners are graded Sugoi And Bold Act finished second and third respectively.
