Flurry said his 5-year-old daughter Daredevil got a 30-day break from the Breeders’ Cup and is doing light training at new co-owner Mandy Pope’s ranch in Florida before returning to Cox in early January at the Fair Grounds.
“They had her at Ocala, Mandy Pope’s team did, and she’s back and looking great,” Cox said. “She looks just as good as always, so I’m excited about getting her started this year and hopefully, making her presence felt in some of the 1st graders throughout. whole year.”
Azeri is the last major local prep for the $1 million Apple Blossom Handicap (G1) at 1/16 mile on April 23.
